Our Organization and History
Terra Education Programs Abroad (TEPA) is dedicated to helping schools and institutions bring learning to life through international travel. With 20 years of experience in educational travel, TEPA creates immersive, cross-cultural programs that foster growth, leadership, and global awareness while keeping academic alignment, safety, and exceptional service at the core.
TEPA was born from Terra Education, the parent organization behind a global network of youth development programs. Terra’s legacy began in Cape Town, South Africa, when Andrew Motiwalla, a former Peace Corps volunteer, and Fred Swaniker, a young social entrepreneur, launched a leadership-focused summer program that grew into a worldwide family of organizations dedicated to global education.
