1. Our promise to you

At Terra Education Programs Abroad (TEPA), one of our top priorities is making sure that the information we have about you is protected and secure. We value our relationship with you and are absolutely committed to preserving your privacy.

2. Information we collect

For each visitor to our web page, our web server does not recognize information regarding the domain or email address. We collect information from visitors who complete forms, such as the Request for Information Forms, Enrollment Forms, Detailed Enrollment Information forms, and resumes, as part of our customer service and the volunteer placement process.

Email: We maintain an internal email list of all persons who have had email correspondence or enrolled in our programs. We may occasionally use this list to send updates and announcements about TEPAs programs around the world. You may indicate your initial request to only receive the information for which you provided us your address in the Request for Information form on our website. You are never under any obligation to remain on the email list and can remove your name from the list at any time by sending a request to tepa(at)terraeducation(dot)com.

Post: If you supply us with your postal address online, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information on updates and announcements. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by sending a request to tepa(at)terraeducation(dot)com. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will ensure your name is removed from our mailing list.

Phone: Persons who supply us with their phone numbers online will only receive phone contact from us regarding information they have requested online. If you supply us with your postal address by phone, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information on updates and announcements. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by sending a request to tepa(at)terraeducation(dot)com. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will ensure your name is removed from our mailing list.

3. How we share information

The email list we maintain is for internal use only and will not be sold or conveyed to any party outside of Terra Education. Further, we do not exchange email lists with any other company. We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies. We will only share email addresses as required by law.

We do not share any personal information about our students or their families with anyone external to Terra Education, Inc., unless required by law or to activate the travel medical insurance included in the volunteer program. Once enrolled, you have the option of allowing us to share your contact information with other enrolled students and their families.

4. How we protect information

We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site. All information is kept in locked files or electronic files that are password protected and whose access rights are restricted to only those TEPA staff members who have a need to know.

All confidential information such as credit card numbers on our website is sent using the Internet security protocol known as Secure Sockets Layer or SSL. This is a certification and encryption technology designed to make using your credit card as safe as possible on the Internet. No one at TEPA has access to your entire credit card number, only the last four digits for identification purposes.

5. Former participants

We do not share personal information about our former participants with anyone unless explicitly agreed upon by the student or their parents if the student is under 18 years of age. An exception to this policy would be information disclosures required by law, such as a subpoena.

We do not share information about our former participants with companies outside of our organization that may use the information for their own marketing purposes.

6. Cookies

We use cookies to monitor how people use our website. A cookie is not software and therefore cannot alter your computer or computer files or software in any way. It is simply a piece of information that is stored on your computers hard drive which records how you have used the TEPA website. Our cookie records no other information than that which is related to TEPA. If you do not want us to use cookies in your browser, you can alter your browser settings to reject cookies or to alert you when a website tries to put a cookie on your computer.

In addition, our third-party advertising vendors may use cookies to show our ads on sites across the Internet based on users past visits to this website. Visitors can opt out of the use of cookies by changing their browser or ad settings.

7. Access to your information

If you would like to know exactly what personal information TEPA has collected about you, we will be happy to share it with you. This includes transaction information such as dates on which you made payments, amounts and types of payments, communications that you have directed to our site such as emails or customer inquiries, and contact information such as name, address, and phone number. 8. GDPR Compliance

Terra Education Programs Abroad and Terra Education have updated our Privacy Policy and practices to meet all General Data Protection Regulation standards.

Terra Education Programs Abroad and Terra are committed to the privacy and protection of all user data, and staff periodically review privacy policies and practices to ensure our organization is up to date on all best practices and regulations.

If you feel that this site is not following its stated information policy, you may contact us at the above addresses or phone number, the DMAs Committee on Ethical Business Practices, state or local chapters of the Better Business Bureau, state or local consumer protection offices, or the Federal Trade Commission.

10. Opting Out

Terra Education and Terra Education Programs Abroad collect personal information to help market our programs abroad to better fit our potential families interests.

To opt out of any data collection or communication, including but not limited to emails, phone calls, text messages, and mailings, please email tepa(at)terraeducation(dot)com with the subject line Unsubscribe and an explanation of which features or all features you would like to opt out of. We will take quick action to remove you and your personal information from the corresponding features.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

11. Changes to the Privacy Policy

Any data or information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time said information was collected. However, we may revise or edit the Privacy Policy periodically.

If a revision is considered material, as determined solely by us, we will notify users. The most recent revision of the Privacy Policy, currently in effect, is posted to our Privacy Policy page.
